Infomercials may have once been thought of as something caught on late night television . But DRTV is now hugely successful and gaining more and more impact as a very successful advertising medium. DRTV works greatest with products that require narration. It is also ideal for those products which demand a demonstration. There are a number of reasons a company would chose to advertise with an infomercial.
One of the main reasons is: the message is usually direct and it requires the viewer to respond to the actual commercial. This allows the client and the media buyer to gauge the effectiveness of the campaign in almost real-time.
